Oral appliance for OSA and Snoring

Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) & Snoring

Do you snore, wake up feeling tired, or have obstructive sleep apnea (OSA)?

Oral appliance therapy is an effective treatment option for many patients with snoring and mild to moderate obstructive sleep apnea. For appropriate candidates, we provide custom mandibular advancement devices (MADs) designed to improve airflow during sleep.

If you have not yet been diagnosed with sleep apnea, we work closely with Primary care physician, sleep medicine physicians, ENT physicians, pulmonologists, neurologists, and cardiologists to coordinate appropriate diagnostic testing and comprehensive care.

Before fabricating your oral appliance, we perform a comprehensive evaluation to determine whether you are a good candidate for oral appliance therapy. This evaluation includes an assessment of your teeth, bite, jaw joints (TMJs), jaw muscles, and overall oral health to help maximize treatment success while minimizing potential side effects.

Treatment Options

Treatment may include:

• Custom mandibular advancement devices (MADs)

  • Custom Morning Occlusal Guide to minimize side effects

• Oral appliances for primary snoring

• Appliance adjustment and titration

• Collaboration with your medical team throughout treatment

Comprehensive Follow-Up Care

Our care does not end once your oral appliance is delivered.

Successful oral appliance therapy requires more than simply fabricating a device. We believe that ongoing follow-up is essential to ensure your treatment is both effective and comfortable.

After your mandibular advancement device has been properly adjusted, we communicate with your referring physician, including your sleep physician, pulmonologist, ENT physician, neurologist, or cardiologist to help confirm that your obstructive sleep apnea is being effectively treated. When appropriate, follow-up sleep testing may be recommended to objectively evaluate treatment success.

We also recommend regular follow-up visits to:

• Monitor your treatment progress

• Evaluate your TMJ health, jaw muscles, and bite

• Adjust your appliance as needed for optimal comfort and effectiveness

• Identify and manage potential side effects

• Maintain long-term treatment success

Our Philosophy

We believe oral appliance therapy is far more than simply providing a dental device.

Successful treatment requires an accurate diagnosis, careful appliance selection and titration, objective confirmation of treatment effectiveness, and long-term follow-up. Our goal is to work closely with your healthcare team to provide comprehensive, evidence-based care while protecting your long-term oral and jaw health.

Because oral appliance therapy may affect the jaw joints, bite, and jaw muscles, our expertise in TMJ and orofacial pain allows us to monitor these changes carefully throughout treatment.
